Making the most of your summer in London
Studying in London is an exciting opportunity to explore the diverse and abundant social and cultural activities, and an ideal location from which to explore the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe. That’s why when you join Summer School at Imperial College Business School, we encourage you to get involved in a host of social and cultural activities that we organise for you to enjoy alongside your studies. Sometimes the best networking takes place outside the classroom!
Activities and trips are not included in the course fees and you will need to pay additional costs.

The Making of Harry Potter
Delve into the magical world of Harry Potter for a behind-the-scenes look at the film series. Be amazed by the millions of artefacts, props, sights and sounds – try Butterbeer, see Platform 9 ¾ and buy a wand from Diagon Alley. This walking tour is not just for the diehard fans!
Dance the night away while floating past iconic London landmarks at our boat party! The boat will leave from Temple Pier and cruise down the Thames to Greenwich, before returning again.
Oxford, nicknamed the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’, revolves around its prestigious university, established in the 12th century (the oldest university in the English-speaking world). Oxford is also home to the Christ Church College, a popular destination with its connections to Harry Potter (scenes were filmed here!) and Lewis Carroll, creator of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
Cambridge is a town brimming with history and tradition – at the heart of this enchanting destination is Cambridge University which is split into 31 architecturally stunning colleges.
The Chelsea Buns at Fitzbillies Bakery are world famous…make sure you make time to try these sticky treats!
Brighton is Britain’s ‘alternative’ seaside town – famous for its bohemian atmosphere and its eccentric characters, clairvoyants, witches, wizards, artists and musicians. It is a great escape from London, especially on a sunny day! Hang out at the beach, wander around ‘The Lanes’, visit The Royal Pavilion or have fish and chips on the pier – there’s something for everyone here.
Live Escape Room

Each team had 60 minutes in which to solve their way out of an immersive, fictional scenario using teamwork and logic.
No trip to the capital is complete without visiting London's West End, which is home to a world-famous theatre district.
Last year, students went to see critically acclaimed musical Six the Musical.
The parts I enjoyed the most was first the trip to the Harry Potter studios since I am a huge fan and have been for ages. The second activity was the boat party. We had so much fun and it was stunning to see London at night from a boat, especially the area around Canary Wharf. The organisers and also the ambassadors did a great job during the summer school.
A day trip to Cambridge was really nice as I got an overview about the working of Cambridge University and learned about its history. Other than this, the boat party organised by the Summer School team was worth attending as I got a chance to interact with the students from other courses as well.
