Julia Anderson Mental Health Trainee

The main focus of this role will be to support the NIHR North West London Patient Safety Research Collaboration (PSRC) team exploring the transition between Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS). The trainee will assess whether a digital intervention is effective in improving the safety, quality, and consistency of transitions. The successful trainee will gain hands-on experience supporting the innovative co-production in mental health research activity within IGHI and receive mentorship and support from IGHI throughout their placement. Prior work experience in mental health is not required.

Julia Anderson Patient Safety Trainee (NIHR North West London Patient Safety Research Collaboration)

This role will support researchers exploring the extent to which patient and public involvement (PPI), and equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are considered in development of risk prioritisation tolls to detect inpatients at risk of medication-related harm. The trainee will be responsible for reviewing studies reporting the development and/or validation of risk prioritisation tools designed to detect inpatients at risk of medication-related harm, with a focus on whether or not PPI and EDI principles are considered in tool design, development and implementation. Prior work experience in patient safety is not required. We would welcome a school leaver (someone without a university or college degree) to apply.

Julia Anderson Public Involvement Trainee (North West London Community Champions Committee)

This role will support the North West London Community Champions Committee (NWL CCC), a group of local patients and carers with strong links to their local communities who advise researchers on how to make their research opportunities more inclusive and accessible. The NWL CCC is funded by and supports the NIHR North West London Patient Safety Research Collaboration (NWL PSRC). The trainee will be responsible for evaluating the impact of the group, reviewing group membership, and working with the group to plan and deliver a community roadshow event.

Julia Anderson Trainee in Behavioural Science (Medication Adherence)

This role will give an individual at the early stage in their career an opportunity to work on understanding low medication adherence rates, and to be a part of efforts to increase treatment adherence for patients in two projects: The first project is with patients prescribed capecitabine (an anticancer drug), and the second project is for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The capecitabine project will work on understanding reasons for non-adherence to capecitabine. The PAD project aims to explore ways to support patients with PAD to be more engaged with their treatment.

Julia Anderson Communications and Events Trainee 

This role will support communications and activities at the Institute of Global Health Innovation’s (IGHI) Climate Cares Centre, the first globally connected research unit dedicated to climate change and mental health. The centre has been at the forefront of the growing climate change and mental health field, with some key projects funded by Wellcome. The Climate Cares Centre aims to protect mental health and strengthen psychosocial resilience in a changing climate, as well as enable climate action that benefits mental health and wellbeing.  The Trainee will work on various communications projects, collaborating with colleagues both at the Grantham Institute and IGHI, researchers, policymakers, and renowned professionals in the field.

Julia Anderson Trainee in Digital Health

The trainee will get hands-on experience of digital health research and translating evidence into measurable interventions to improve patient safety in virtual care. The trainee will be involved in reviewing the literature, extracting data, and critically appraising available literature to identify safety indicators relevant to virtual consultations.

Julia Anderson Programme Operations Trainee

As the Programme Operations Trainee, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks with the view to develop our Training Programme further. You will be working alongside the Operations Officer and be given the opportunity to take the lead in certain areas. This is a unique chance for anyone who is interested in a career in Operations, Project Management, Communications, Event Management, Administration or Human Resources and wants to get a first work experience in an exciting environment.
