Guidance on the use of images

Managers and organisers of events involving children should review and follow the relevant university guidance if they will be creating, sharing and storing images of children Consent and permissions

There are particular risks in publishing images of children, for example, if the picture is shared alongside identifiable information or copied and manipulated.

Each image becomes part of a child’s digital footprint, and it is essential that they are aware that photography is taking place and can refuse this, without compromising their opportunity to participate in the activity.
For children under 13, explicit consent to photographing must be obtained from the parent/guardian.
