How to apply to our Global Online MBA
Applications for our September 2023 and January 2024 intakes are now open. To find out the next admissions round deadline, refer to our key dates and deadlines page. And don't forget to review the steps below before submitting your application!
Apply online
Applications for the Global Online MBA are made through our online application system, which gives you the flexibility to complete your application in your own time and save your progress. The form includes questions about you, your career and your educational history to date.
You will also need to provide the following in support of your application:
You will need to submit electronic copies of your full degree transcripts and certificates (with English translations if necessary) for any degrees you have completed, or relevant professional qualifications.
Transcripts should include: details of all of the modules studied on the degree, your marks for each, and the overall mark, grade or classification that you achieved if you have completed your studies. If you have studied more than one degree level programme please upload a complete set of transcripts for each qualification.
Your personal statement provides an opportunity for you to tell us a bit more about yourself and your motivation for undertaking this programme. In the personal statement section of the application, we ask you to answer the following questions:
- Please share your motivation for undertaking this programme?
- What is your proudest non-academic achievement?
- What would you contribute to the cohort and to the Imperial community?
- How would you use your degree to make a positive impact?
Each section of the personal statement has a 1500 character limit (including spaces).
You must include a full and up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV) – we do not require that you use a particular format, but a CV template is available here for your convenience.
In the career planning questions you will need to show you have thought about the type of employer you want to work for immediately after graduating and have researched your target organisation(s) and role. You will also need to demonstrate you have the necessary skills and experience to succeed in your chosen role. If you are planning to set up your own business, you will need to outline what expertise or product your business will deliver and that you have researched the market. Whilst we want our students to hit the ground running, we understand that you will also be looking to develop gaps in your skillset to prepare for your chosen career and you will need to address this in the career planning questions.
You will need to provide the contact details of two referees. When you submit your form, the online application system will send an automatic reference request directly to their professional email accounts so they can submit their recommendation letter quickly and efficiently online.
Your referees should be individuals who are best placed to discuss your suitability for an MBA programme based on your performance and achievements at work, your strengths and areas for development, and your future potential – ideally including one from your current or a recent line manager.
If English is not your native language, you may be required to take an English language test (see our entry requirements for accepted tests and required scores). You should upload a scanned copy of your English language certificate.
You may submit your application form before you have obtained English language test results. Please include details if you have a planned test date on the application form and ensure that you contact the Admissions team once your score is available.
To submit an application, you will need to pay an application processing fee of £150.
Interview
If your application is successful, you will be invited to a Skype or Zoom interview with an alumnus or member of the Admissions Committee. The interview will last approximately 30 minutes and will be conducted within the published interview week(s) for the application round in which you applied.
Final decision
After your interview, your full application and interview performance will be assessed by the Admissions Committee. If you are successful, we will make you a conditional offer of admission for the programme. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by email no later than the published decision date for the application round that you have applied for. You will be able to log in to our online portal to respond to your offer, view full details of your conditions and pay your deposit.
