Common questions

Who can take part in the staff survey?

To ensure we gather accurate and meaningful feedback from staff at Imperial, we are inviting all colleagues who work more than one day per week to participate in the survey.

Staff who joined Imperial after 31 December 2025 will not be invited to take part, as they have not yet been in post long enough to provide representative feedback.

Colleagues recorded on ICIS as Bursary, Casual, Emeritus, Honorary, Sponsored Researcher, Visiting Researcher, or those on contracts of 0.2 FTE or less, are also not eligible to participate in this survey.

Additional support is available for staff with disabilities. This includes, for example, access to a larger-font version of the survey or assistance with completing it. If you require any support, please contact support@peopleinsight.co.uk

Is it compulsory to take part?

No - participation is voluntary. However, we do encourage all staff to take the opportunity to speak up and be open to help Imperial understand what is or is not working.

What topics will the survey cover?

The staff survey will review key aspects of your staff experience, such as employee wellbeing, engagement and morale, leadership and communication, work environment and resources, and opportunities for growth and development.

How long does the survey take to complete?

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete.

How do I take part in the staff survey?

You will receive an email from survey-invite@peopleinsight.co.uk to your work address containing a unique link to access the survey online. Do not share or forward the email with this link to anyone else, as this is unique to you.

What do I do if I haven’t received my survey invite?

If you notice that you have not received your invite when the survey opens please contact People Insight directly at support@peopleinsight.co.uk. They will confirm eligibility and then send you a survey link.

What devices can I use to complete the survey?

The survey is accessible from mobile devices such as smartphones and tables, as well as from a PC or MAC. For the 2026 survey you will be able to scan and use the staff survey QR code.  This will take you to the People Insight landing page where you will need to provide your Imperial CID Number.

Do I have to complete the online survey all in one go?

We recommend that you complete the survey in one sitting if possible, but you can keep coming back to it as many times as you wish.  Your survey responses are saved each time you exit the survey, so you can pick up where you left off by clicking the survey link

What do I need to do if I require the survey in a different format?

If you need access to the survey in a specific format, for example a large print format or to complete the survey over the phone, please contact the People Insight directly at support@peopleinsight.co.uk.

Who should I contact if I have a query about the survey or need help completing it?

People Insight can be contacted at support@peopleinsight.co.uk

They are available to answer any queries you may have about taking part in the survey or about why and how it is being carried out.

Can I complete the survey if I am leaving Imperial?

Anyone registered in the Imperial system as leaving before 4th March 2026 will not be invited to complete the survey.
