When are the sessions running?

  • Technical new starters: Wednesday 4 February 2026,  13.00 – 14.30 in CHEM C661, Level 6, Chemistry Building, South Kensington campus
  • Professional Services and Operational new starters: Spring term 2026 - time and venue TBC

Overview

The Learning and Talent team is pleased to launch a new series of 'Welcome to Imperial Induction sessions' for new starters from each job family. These 90-minute sessions will run once per term and are intended to supplement the standard Imperial Insights induction programme, which all new staff are encouraged to attend. 

These short, interactive sessions will be offered to Academic, Technical, and Professional and Operational staff as individual staff groups.

These new termly induction workshops are intended to allow new colleagues to find out "what it's really like to be an academic/technician/professional services colleague in this institution" and gain practical information about how they can get off to the best start at Imperial. 

The sessions will be delivered by experienced staff from each job family. Staff who have joined Imperial in the last couple of years will also join us to share their perspectives.

These workshops will provide a great networking opportunity for new staff, adding to their sense of welcome and belonging.
