Register of External Interests and Annual Declaration
In keeping with its academic aims and purposes, the University encourages the closest liaison between its staff and external interests. In encouraging such interaction, the University is mindful of its obligation to provide safeguards, wherever possible, against anything arising from these interests which could be detrimental to the University or to individual members of staff
As a result, all University staff must submit their declaration of interests return each year. Staff are normally required to seek permission for any interest outside their role with the University and not allocated by a manager, regardless of contracted hours.
There are two types of returns:
- Nothing to declare.
- External interests to declare.
