College Identification (CID) number

What’s my CID number?

You can find your CID on communications from the Alumni Engagement Office. For example, it could be found on the top right corner in the emails we send you.

If you are unable to find it, the quickest way to do so is via the ASK service portal. Please follow these steps to submit your request.

  1. Sign up as an external user on our ASK customer service portal.
(you can use any email address to do this, it does not have to be an alumni email address)
  2. You'll receive an email with a link to verify your account.
  3. When you have verified your account, you will receive a second email to set a password for your account.
  4. Login to the ASK customer service portal.
  5. Select the 'Contact us' option
  6. Select the 'Find my CID / alumni membership number (alumni only)' form, in the 'Alumni Services' menu and complete the form.
  7. We will process your request via the ASK portal within the next 2 working days.

Alternatively, you can email alumni@imperial.ac.uk with your full namedate of birthsubject of studyDepartmententry year, and graduation year so we could find it for you.  We aim to process your request via email within the next 5 working days.

I only know my student number. Is this the same as my CID?

Yes, your CID is the same as your student number at Imperial. It is usually an 8-digit number starting with 9 or 0.
