When and where?

The committee are encouraged to be creative when planning their events and consider new ideas for engaging their audience. Events can be held on campus, in venues across London/UK and online in the format of a webinar or podcast.

PIN events:

  • Typically feature a presentation or a panel discussion lead by a prominent sector specific professional. Often there is an opportunity for break-out discussions in small groups or an open floor question and answer session. The majority of events take place in the evening, and are followed by a drinks reception and informal networking.
  • Can also take place in webinar format to foster global connections with the international alumni community. Webinars are flexible and can be live or recorded in advance.
  • Are open to all Imperial alumni, staff, students and guests. Alumni are encouraged to extend invitations to their colleagues and contacts with relevant interests

Support from Imperial

The Marketing Network is financially self-sustaining. A small amount of funding is available from The Alumni Relations Office and this is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Committee Members should expect to charge for events and use their networks to secure sponsorship or funding if they wish to hold events off campus.

The Alumni Relations team partners with PINs and provides the following assistance:

  • Book venues and catering if the event is held on campus
  • Manage online registration via Eventbrite
  • Promote events through the College’s communication channels – email, social media, e-newsletters, website, past attendees, students and Faculty
  • Day-of event management, including providing name badges, registration lists, AV support and filming/recording if required
  • Collate feedback from the event and circulate to Network alumni volunteers to help improve and inform future events
  • Attend working group PIN meetings if appropriate.
