Global Skills Development

We equip students with the essential academic, professional, and interpersonal skills needed to succeed across all BSc, MSc and MBA programmes at the Business School. Our tailored support includes 1-to-1 consultations, team coaching, full-cohort workshops, and online resources focused on presentation, writing, and teamwork skills, as well as broader learner development competencies and the impact of language on communication.

We deliver presentation coaching and rehearsal practice for consultancy project presentations across, presentation workshops, small group workshops on Building Confidence and Dealing with Nerves as well as online resources on presenting in the Study Skills Primer.

 

We support students in developing their academic and professional writing skills, reflective writing workshops, 1:1 tutorials, project report writing workshops in addition to online resources on a wide range of writing genres, available via the Study Skills Primer on the Hub.

Maximise learning potential and fully enjoy the study experience through teamworking induction workshops, teamwork review workshops and our online resources on building effective teams, available via the Study Skills Primer on the Hub.

We work closely with career consultants to help you present yourself with confidence.  You can book a 1:1 via Symplicity on CV and cover letter consultations and 1:1 job interview coaching.

We also provide targeted support at key transition points, helping students prepare for study at the Business School and meet essential language requirements.  We offer orientation workshops, language waiver Interviews, 1:1 English language support for international students.

Jim has taught at Imperial Business School since 2007, where he leads writing, research, and professional skills training across all postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. His international expertise spans academic, business, and professional communication.
