Eligibility

Applicants who are resident in one of the 54 African countries (as defined by the United Nations) will automatically be considered.

Eligibility

The Bseisu-Imperial College London Scholarship has been established with the generous support of the Amjad & Suha Bseisu Foundation to help realise our vision of attracting brilliant minds to Imperial, regardless of their financial circumstances.

This scholarship is for residents and citizens of Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan from disadvantaged backgrounds.

There is one Bseisu-Imperial College London Scholarship available for exceptional students who are commencing a one-year full-time MSc degree at Imperial College Business School in September 2022. Please note that MRes/MBA courses are not eligible.

How to apply

You must submit an application for one of the eligible master’s degree through the standard College application procedure as soon as possible and have an offer of admission by the deadline of 11:59 pm (UK local time), Monday 9 May 2022.

During the week commencing 16 May 2022, applicants who have an offer of admission will be contacted by email with scholarship information and asked to complete a Bseisu Scholarship application form in order to apply for the scholarship.

Successful candidates will be notified by email no later than 29 July 2022. If you have not heard from us by this date, please assume you have been unsuccessful in your application. The successful scholars may be expected to meet informally with the donors on occasions, participate in events surrounding this scholarship, or be required to submit a short statement of progress that will be shared with the donors. This award is for students starting in the academic year 2022-23 and cannot be deferred. All scholarships are awarded subject to students accepting award Terms and Conditions.

Requirements

  • Be ordinarily resident in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon or Jordan, or holding citizenship of Palestine, Syria, Lebanon or Jordan
  • Be available to commence your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2022
  • Have received an offer of admission to study for a one-year full-time MSc degree at Imperial College Business School by 11:59 pm (UK local time), Monday 9 May 2022
  • Demonstrate that you have come from a disadvantaged background
  • Preference will be given to applicants with at least two year's work experience
  • Applicants who are awarded this scholarship will be required to have met the English language requirement by 29 July 2022

We are delighted to support talented students by offering Bright Network members an application fee waiver. Please note the waiver covers the £80 application fee, but applicants are still required to pay full tuition fees. Eligibility

We welcome applications from Imperial College London alumni. We offer a 10% bursary on tuition fees to successful candidates with an undergraduate degree from Imperial awarded at a minimum of Upper Second Class Honours, or Master’s degree awarded with a minimum of Merit.

Imperial College London students or alumni who apply before the above deadline and receive an offer for the programme will automatically receive this award.

We cannot guarantee the availability of Imperial Loyalty Bursaries for applications received after the deadline.

Programme-specific scholarships and awards available for September 2022 entry

The scholarship offers a unique opportunity for an exceptional Muslim student active in British Muslim communities and keen to build bridges with all parts of British society. The student will have the commitment and intelligence to support and represent Muslim communities in wider society, as well as the credibility to bring and explain new learning experiences back to the community, and will thus create mutual understanding between Muslims and others and contribute to the creation of a more cohesive society. The scholarship will cover the full tuition fee for the MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance programme.

  • Have an offer (or have submitted a complete application) to the MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance programme for September 2022 entry
  • Have an upper second class or equivalent undergraduate degree from a reputable, internationally recognised university. • Be active within their local and/or faith community and demonstrate a desire to develop intellectual skills within a multi-faith/secular environment
  • Be able to demonstrate a long-term commitment to community/societal development and good relations work through public leadership
  • Be eligible for Home/EU fee status at the University.

Complete an application to the MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance programme for September 2022 entry by Monday 6 June 2022.

Stage 2: Apply to Imperial College Business School for the scholarship

Submit a statement of no more than 1,000 words setting out how you meet the criteria above, addressing also how you hope to use this scholarship for your future work. Please submit the statement to mscclimatechange@imperial.ac.uk by Friday 8 July 2022. Remember to include your full name and your CID in your email.

Stage 3: Attend the interview

If called, please attend the interview with Imperial College Business School and the Foundation. Interviews will be held in July/August 2022. Imperial College London is pleased to announce the British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM.

In partnership with the British Council, Imperial College London is offering five scholarships for female students studying on an eligible programme from one of the countries listed in the eligibility section.

The scholarships have been created with the aim to help address the under-representation of women in STEM. Applicants will be required to demonstrate their financial need and how they would inspire future generations of women to pursue a career in STEM.

Each scholarship covers full tuition fees, an annual stipend of up to £16,680, and a return economy-class flight from home country to UK. It also covers other related costs including an accepted English language proficiency test exam fee* (*only if an English language test is required as part of the offer of admissions), visa application and NHS surcharge. It also provides £200 towards the cost of study materials. Additional funding is available if scholars have caring responsibilities.

To apply for British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM, you must:

  • Be a passport holder and permanent resident of Brazil, Mexico or Peru.
  • Be available to commence your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October.
  • Have submitted an application to study at Imperial College London before your scholarship application can be considered and have received an offer to study for one of the eligible programmes by the time selection takes place to be considered for a scholarship. It is expected that selection will take place shortly after the scholarship deadline.
  • Have completed your undergraduate degree or have all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at Imperial College London and meet the academic entry requirement for admissions before the start of the UK academic year in September/October.
  • Have not previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK or lived recently in the UK.
  • Meet the English language requirement for your programme at Imperial College London. Applicants who are awarded this scholarship will be required to have met College English entry requirements (Pre-sessional English courses are not supported by this programme) by 29 July 2022.

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) is an international scholarship programme, and in the United Kingdom (UK) is responsible for awarding academically bright citizens of developing Commonwealth countries with funding to undertake postgraduate study at UK universities. The CSC wishes to promote equal opportunity, gender equity and cultural exchange.

Eligibility

To apply for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country (Eligible Commonwealth countries: Bangladesh, Cameroon, Eswatini, The Gambia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia)
  • Have submitted an application to study on one of the following five eligible courses as soon as the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship competition opens (competition is due to open on 10 November 2021). In order to be eligible for this award, applicants must also hold an offer of admission by the time nominations to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) take place. Nominations will take place early 2022
  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK, or remotely if required, by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2022
  • By September 2022, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard
  • Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high-income country
  • Be unable to afford to study at a UK university without this scholarship
  • Commit to return to their home country within one month of the end date of their scholarship
  • Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format

Candidates who submit their MSc International Management application before the deadline advertised below and are shortlisted for the programme will be invited to apply for this scholarship.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit a video assessment. In the three-minute video response, you will be asked to describe the time when you had most impact as a leader.

  • A strong track record of leadership – this may include during your studies, work experience and internships, and/or within your community
  • Outstanding future leadership potential
  • The overall strength of your application and interview performance, including a good academic background, good GMAT performance, a strong CV and a well-researched career plan

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Imperial College London is offering three scholarships to students from Kenya, Nigeria and Thailand applying for postgraduate courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine and Business subjects.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study at Imperial.

All eligible applicants holding a valid passport of Kenya, Nigeria or Thailand will be invited to apply for a GREAT scholarship if they receive an offer to study at Imperial by Monday, 14 March 2022.

  • be a citizen of Kenya, Nigeria or Thailand 
  • have been classified as Overseas for fee status

  • have received an offer of admission to study for a one-year full-time Master's Course from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Business School or Science Communication Unit by Monday, 14 March 2022.
  • be available to commence your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2022

You are not eligible if:

  • You hold dual British citizenship
  • You apply for an MBA course
  • Your course is an online/distance learning course
  • The duration of your course is longer than one year

In addition to the above eligibility, applicants who are awarded this scholarship will be required to have met College English entry requirements (Pre-sessional English courses are not supported by this programme) by 30 June 2022. The W L “Bill” Byrnes Global Scholarship has been established thanks to a generous donation by the Fidelity UK Foundation in memory of Bill Byrnes, who played a significant role in the development of Fidelity as an international investment management business. 

The scholarship aims to support an academically brilliant student who can demonstrate that they have come from a financially disadvantaged background or are from the first generation in their family to attend university. 

One award of £25,000 is available to students joining the MSc Investment & Wealth Management programme.

Eligibility criteria

The scholarship will be awarded to applicants based on the following criteria:

  • A very strong academic background and potential for future success
  • Your performance during the admissions process, where academic and professional merit will be assessed
  • A track record of professional excellence and achievement through internships and/or work experience
  • Your video response demonstrating that you have overcome financial adversities to pursue your education, or that you are from the first generation in your family to attend university

How to apply

Candidates who submit their application for the MSc Investment & Wealth Management programme before the deadline advertised below and receive an offer for the programme will be eligible to apply for this scholarship. A video assessment is required for this scholarship, and details will be communicated once an offer has been made.

Deadline

If you are offered an Imperial College Business School scholarship or Imperial Loyalty Bursary and are subsequently offered a larger award by us, the larger one would supersede the first award and would not be in addition to it. 

Scholarships awarded by Imperial College Business School are in the form of a reduction of the tuition fee.  Therefore, if you receive another scholarship that pays the full tuition fee directly to the College, you cannot also receive a scholarship from the Business School.
