A range of scholarships are available, including several dedicated schemes for specific programmes, and it is recommended that you apply early to give yourself the best chance of receiving an award.

Imperial College Business School is proud to be a global organisation with students from all over the world. To encourage this further, we are offering scholarships to African students who we believe would contribute to the Imperial community.

Eligibility

Applicants who are resident in one of the 54 African countries (as defined by the United Nations) will automatically be considered.

Requirements

A strong overall application with excellent academic background, career potential, references and personal statement.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit a video assessment. In the three-minute video response, you will need to explain when you have had an impact as a leader and how you will continue your leadership journey after your time at Imperial College London.

Scholarships of up to £10,000 are available for members of the Bright Network.

Eligibility

All successful applicants who are members of the Bright Network will be automatically considered.

Please note the waiver covers the application fee, but applicants are still required to pay full tuition fees. Eligibility

We welcome applications from Imperial College London alumni. We offer a 10% bursary on tuition fees to successful candidates with an undergraduate degree from Imperial awarded at a minimum of Upper Second Class Honours, or Master’s degree awarded with a minimum of Merit.

Imperial College London students or alumni who apply before the above deadline and receive an offer for the programme will automatically receive this award.

We cannot guarantee the availability of Imperial Loyalty Bursaries for applications received after the deadline.

Programme-specific scholarships and awards available for September 2023 entry

The scholarship offers a unique opportunity for an exceptional Muslim student active in British Muslim communities and keen to build bridges with all parts of British society. The student will have the commitment and intelligence to support and represent Muslim communities in wider society, as well as the credibility to bring and explain new learning experiences back to the community, and will thus create mutual understanding between Muslims and others and contribute to the creation of a more cohesive society. The scholarship will cover the full tuition fee for the MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance programme. The Aziz Foundation welcomes informal enquiries from candidates considering an application. How to apply

Stage 1: Apply to Imperial College Business School

Complete an application to the MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance programme for September 2023 entry by Monday 5 June 2023. The Scholarship is dependent upon you being accepted by Imperial College Business School.

Stage 2: Apply to Imperial College Business School for the Scholarship

Submit a statement of no more than 1,000 words setting out how you meet the criteria above, addressing also how you hope to use this scholarship for your future work. Please submit the statement to mscclimatechange@imperial.ac.uk by Friday 7 July 2023. Remember to include your full name and your CID in your email.

Stage 3: Attend the Interview

If called, please attend the interview with Imperial College Business School and the Foundation. Interviews will be held in July/August 2023. Please note that we will only contact you if you have been shortlisted. If you do not hear from us, then please assume that in this instance your application has not been successful.

In partnership with the British Council, Imperial College London is offering five scholarships for female students studying on an eligible programme from the country listed in the eligibility section.

The scholarships have been created with the aim to help address the under-representation of women in STEM. Applicants will be required to demonstrate their financial need and how they would inspire future generations of women to pursue a career in STEM.

Amount: Full tuition fees + stipend

Eligible programmes

MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance, MSc Innovation Entrepreneurship & Management and MSc International Health Management

Eligibility criteria

  • Be a passport holder and permanent resident of Egypt.
  • Be available to commence your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2023.
  • Have submitted an application to study at Imperial College London before your scholarship application can be considered and have received an offer to study for one of the eligible programmes by the time selection takes place to be considered for a scholarship. It is expected that selection will take place shortly after the scholarship deadline.
  • Have completed your undergraduate degree or have all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at Imperial College London and meet the academic entry requirement for admissions before the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2023.
  • Have not previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK or lived recently in the UK.
  • Meet the English language requirement for your programme at Imperial College London. Applicants who are awarded this scholarship will be required to have met College English entry requirements (Pre-sessional English courses are not supported by this programme) by 30 June 2023.

Our Global Leadership Scholarship is available to MSc International Management applicants demonstrating an outstanding track record of leadership and/or outstanding leadership potential, a focused career plan and a strong overall application.

Eligible programmes

  • MSc International Management

Eligibility criteria

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability and passion to become a visionary business leader. To be considered for this scholarship, you must display leadership qualities and exceptional career potential in your application.

How to apply

Candidates who submit their MSc International Management application before the deadline advertised below and are shortlisted for the programme will be invited to apply for this scholarship.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit a video assessment. In the three-minute video response, you will be asked to describe the time when you had most impact as a leader.

Requirements

  • A strong track record of leadership – this may include during your studies, work experience and internships, and/or within your community
  • Outstanding future leadership potential
  • The overall strength of your application and interview performance, including a good academic background, good GMAT performance, a strong CV and a well-researched career plan
  • Your academic and/or professional references

Deadline

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Imperial College London is offering eight scholarships to students from Egypt, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Thailand applying for postgraduate courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine and Business subjects.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study at Imperial.

All eligible applicants holding a valid passport of Egypt, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Thailand will be invited to apply for a GREAT scholarship if they receive an offer to study at Imperial by Monday, 13 March 2023.

In addition to the above eligibility, applicants who are awarded this scholarship will be required to have met College English entry requirements (Pre-sessional English courses are not supported by this programme) by 30 June 2023. If you have not met the English entry requirements yet, please make the necessary arrangements as soon as possible to ensure you meet this requirement by 30 June 2023.

  • You hold dual British citizenship

  • Your course is an online/distance learning course

How to apply

Stage 1: Apply for a one-year full-time Master's course at Imperial College London

You must submit an application for a master’s course through the standard College application procedure and have an offer of admission by the deadline of 11:59 pm (UK local time), Monday, 13 March 2023.

Stage 2: Eligible candidates will be invited to apply for the scholarship

During the week commencing 20 March 2023, eligible students who have received an offer of admission to study at the College for 2023 entry will be contacted via email and invited to complete a GREAT Scholarship application form.

  • Have been classified as Overseas for fee status
  • Apply for a one-year full-time Master's course

The W L “Bill” Byrnes Global Scholarship has been established thanks to a generous donation by the Fidelity UK Foundation in memory of Bill Byrnes, who played a significant role in the development of Fidelity as an international investment management business. 

The scholarship aims to support an academically brilliant student who can demonstrate that they have come from a financially disadvantaged background or are from the first generation in their family to attend university. 

One award of £25,000 is available to students joining the MSc Investment & Wealth Management programme.

Eligibility criteria

The scholarship will be awarded to applicants based on the following criteria:

  • A very strong academic background and potential for future success
  • Your performance during the admissions process, where academic and professional merit will be assessed
  • A track record of professional excellence and achievement through internships and/or work experience
  • Your video response demonstrating that you have overcome financial adversities to pursue your education, or that you are from the first generation in your family to attend university

Candidates who submit their application for the MSc Investment & Wealth Management programme before the deadline advertised below and receive an offer for the programme will be eligible to apply for this scholarship. A video assessment is required for this scholarship, and details will be communicated once an offer has been made.

If you are offered an Imperial College Business School scholarship or Imperial Loyalty Bursary and are subsequently offered a larger award by us, the larger one would supersede the first award and would not be in addition to it. 

Scholarships awarded by Imperial College Business School are in the form of a reduction of the tuition fee.  Therefore, if you receive another scholarship that pays the full tuition fee directly to the College, you cannot also receive a scholarship from the Business School.
