About the Outreach Team
Imperial's Outreach Team is responsible for delivering our programme of activities for schools and colleges. We deliver a wide range of exciting and inspiring activities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds right across the United Kingdom.
Our focus is on raising attainment, changing perceptions, supporting teaching staff and stimulating interest in STEM subjects from primary through to A-Level education, as part of Imperial's widening participation and outreach agenda.
By working closely with teaching staff, we are able to focus that support specifically where it is needed through our dedicated outreach programmes for primary school and secondary school students.
We are a mixture of trained scientists, mathematicians and expert advisors on higher education. Our diversity of experience is reflected in the wide variety of ways we work with schools and colleges, from providing tutors to support their science activities to delivering workshops that prepare their students for the application process.
To make sure we can offer the fullest breadth of activities we collaborate with many members of academic staff, as well as student ambassadors who add the valuable perspective of life as a current Imperial student.
We deliver our activities externally in schools and colleges, through online platforms and on campus in the dedicated schools’ Wohl Reach Out Lab on our South Kensington Campus and the Dangoor Reach Out Makerspace on our White City Campus.
