The London experience
Imperial’s proximity to the City of London, the capital’s financial and business hub, means that we have close partnerships and strong connections with many of the world’s top companies, who benefit from our research excellence.
This exchange culture provides you with a unique opportunity to expand your network with other senior professionals at top global organisations.
If you’re based in London or are visiting, as a Business School student you will have to access campus facilities such as the library and gym.
Induction week - Monday 4 - Friday 8 September 2023
Your first week of the Global Online MBA will be spent at our campus in London, where you will meet with the rest of your cohort, faculty and teaching/programme staff.
This five-day induction will lay the foundations of your Global Online MBA experience. As well as a programme introduction, you will partake in several lectures, discussions and exercises to give you an introduction to the Global Online MBA.
Sessions with the Business School’s Careers team also form a key part of induction week. The Careers team work with you throughout the programme, helping you to develop a plan and the skills necessary to achieve your career goals.
This week also provides ample opportunity to network with your Global Online MBA classmates. As well as undertaking the formal components of the Induction Week, you will also have plenty of time to meet and connect with your classmates through various activities and events. You will also meet your syndicate team for the first year of your programme, who will play a significant role in your learning.
Please note that the programme induction week is a compulsory element of your Business School programme and we expect you to attend on campus in London.
Capstone
Alongside a series of lectures on innovation, design and entrepreneurship, you will take part in a unique module simulation where you will analyse the innovative needs of a large multinational and develop a business case for the company to grow.
The Capstone module, occurring near the end of your studies, takes place over a seven-day period at our London campus*. As well as the practical learning element, this is another chance to strengthen your connections within your cohort. You will work in groups with students who have complementary skills and experience to you, allowing for a broader perspective.
