Bseisu - Imperial College London Scholarship

The Bseisu-Imperial College London Scholarship has been established with the generous support of the Amjad & Suha Bseisu Foundation to help realise our vision of attracting brilliant minds to Imperial, regardless of their financial circumstances.

We invite applications for this award from candidates who are ordinarily resident in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon or Jordan, and are pursuing a full-time MSc programme commencing in September 2020.

One award covering the full programme tuition fees is available.

How to apply

Candidates are required to answer the following essay question to be considered for the scholarship:

  • What life experiences have shaped who you are today and how have you overcome adversity to excel in education? How do you think these experiences will help you in today’s rapidly changing world? (700 words maximum)

Candidates who apply by the deadline and meet the residency requirements will be automatically considered for this scholarship and asked to submit their answers to the essay question if they haven’t already.

The W L “Bill” Byrnes Global Scholarship

Summary

The W L “Bill” Byrnes Global Scholarship has been established thanks to a generous donation by the Fidelity UK Foundation in memory of Bill Byrnes, who played a significant role in the development of Fidelity as an international investment management business.

The scholarship supports the Business School’s vision of attracting brilliant minds to Imperial, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. One award of £25,000 is available to students joining the MSc Investment and Wealth Management programme in September 2020.

The scholarship aims to support an academically brilliant student who can demonstrate that they have come from a financially disadvantaged background or are from the first generation in their family to attend university.

How to apply

We would like to find out more about you and your suitability for the scholarship via your video response to the following questions, which you should prepare for in advance:

  • What life experiences have shaped who you are today, and what circumstances have you or your family had to overcome for you to excel in education?

  • Are you from the first generation in your family to attend university?

  • Please tell us about your personal journey, and how these experiences will help you in today’s rapidly changing world

Your video should be no longer than 3 minutes and must be submitted and recorded via our partner Kira Talent, by 2 March 2020. When you are ready to record your video, please click here to access Kira Talent.

There will be a short practice session to help you get used to the platform. Upon submission, you will have 30 seconds to gather your thoughts, followed by 3 minutes to record your answer.  We’re looking for the best in you and are interested in your experience and skills, so please don’t worry if you make the occasional stumble or mistake – we’ll be looking at the big picture of what you’ve told us.

Next steps after you have submitted: We receive a high volume of applications and need to review each one carefully, so it could be some time before you hear from us, but we will contact you as soon as we can to let you know the result of your application.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to MSc Investment and Wealth Management applicants only. The Selection Committee will consider:

  • A very strong academic background and potential for future success

  • Your performance during the admissions process, where academic and professional merit will be assessed

  • A track record of professional excellence and achievement through internships and/or work experience

  • Your video response demonstrating that you have overcome financial adversities to pursue your education, or that you are from the first generation in your family to attend university

Eligibility

We are delighted to support talented students by offering Bright Network members an application fee waiver. Please note the waiver covers the £80 application fee, but applicants are still required to pay full tuition fees. If you are already a member of the Bright Network, please email us at business.school@imperial.ac.uk with your name to request your discount code. If you are not yet a member of the Bright Network, please sign up, where you will also be given the discount code.

Imperial Loyalty Bursary - 10% of the tuition fees

We welcome applications from Imperial College London alumni. We offer a 10% bursary on tuition fees to successful candidates with an undergraduate degree from Imperial awarded at a minimum of Upper Second Class Honours, or Master’s degree awarded with a minimum of Merit.

We are therefore pleased to offer scholarships of up to £20,000, to exceptional female candidates who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and career potential. 

How to apply

Candidates who apply before the deadlines below and receive an offer for the programme commencing in September 2020 will automatically be considered. Your personal statement should highlight your leadership experience so far and what you have learnt from it. We are especially interested in hearing about any participation in diversity initiatives in your university or professional experience. Early application is strongly recommended to increase your chance of receiving an award.

We are delighted to launch a new Technology and Innovation Scholarship, with awards of up £20,000 available to recognise students who can demonstrate experience of using technology to innovate.

Eligibility

Scholarships of 50% of the programme tuition fee are available for Imperial College London students or alumni with exceptional academic performance and a strong overall application.

Imperial College London students or alumni who apply before the deadlines below and receive an offer for the programme commencing in September 2020 will automatically be considered for this award. Please use your personal statement to highlight your proudest achievements inside and outside the classroom.

Candidates awarded an Imperial College scholarship will be ineligible for an Imperial alumni loyalty bursary.
