The Library has arranged open access memberships and agreements with several publishers.

Some agreements allow authors to publish their articles open access without requiring further payment to the publisher, and others entitle authors to a discounted open access fee / article processing charge (APC).

Transformative agreements are a way for publishers to transition subscription journals to full open access. The open access costs are part of an overall Imperial payment for subscriptions and publishing.

For more context on the transformative agreements we have signed with publishers please see our Library blog post.

If you have a paper accepted that you think may be eligible for one of the below benefits please apply for open access funding in the usual way, at the same time as uploading your accepted manuscript via Symplectic. The Open Access team can then advise accordingly.

For queries about open access agreements and discounts, please contact the Library's Open Access team.
