Accessibility on WISEflow Application

This accessibility statement covers WISEflow, accessed via https://europe.WISEflow.net/login/license/263

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

How accessible is the website?

WISEflow is accessible to WCAG 2.1 AA. This means that WISEflow does not use colour to convey information, all forms are labelled using alt text and check boxes and text boxes are clearly labelled. As a result of this, WISEflow is accessible for use with a screen reader. WISEflow does not rely on video or audio to relay information, however any audio and video uploaded as assessment help materials or submitted as assessments by users may not be accessible.

WISEflow is navigable using speech recognition software.

WISEflow is almost entirely navigable by keyboard, with this exception of single cases*.

WISEflow is accessible to WAI-ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) standard, which means that it’s accessible to course coordinators and authors with disabilities.

*Single instances of non-compliance are limited to the licence administrator tool and are not the case for the broad user groups of students, assessors, and authors.

What WISEflow do about known issues

WISEflow work to achieve and maintain WCAG 2.1 AA standards, but it is not always possible for all content to be accessible. Where content is not accessible, WISEflow will state a reason, warn users and offer alternatives.

Partial compliance is the solely the result of legacy inconsistencies in the platform that aren’t, at present, possible to change. WISEflow have detailed changes for increased accessibility in their roadmap which includes:

  • Each new component added to WISEflow will meet WCAG standards.
  • WISEflow is continuously developed to comply with web browser standards and leading operating systems, so that aids and applications in WISEflow can be used in the widest possible way by users with additional needs. WISEflow currently supports iOS, Windows, and Chrome OS, as well as mobile platforms where major standard browsers operate (Edge, Safari, Firefox, Opera.)
  • In terms of non-compliances that remain, WISEflow will continue to work to refactor the platform by the end of 2022.

Whilst WISEflow does not rely on video or audio content, any content uploaded by users will not be captioned in WISEflow, and transcripts are not available.

Users also do not have the option to disable or change shortcut keys within WISEflow.

WISEflow currently provides no information for accessibility measures when using the application on a mobile device. This would be browser only as WISEflow does not have a mobile application.
