Getting here

The library main entrance is on the 1st floor of the Commonwealth Building.
Entry to the Commonwealth Building is restricted and requires an Imperial College London ID card and a door PIN code.

  • NHS library users can get a College ID card allowing access to all Imperial College Libraries. To obtain this card register for library membership online.
  • College Staff and students not based at Hammersmith Campus can apply via email to hammersmith.security@imperial.ac.uk to request Commonwealth Building access and a PIN Code on their IDs.

Reception staff will then let you into the ICTEM Building. Go to the 1st floor and then across the glass bridge into the Commonwealth Building.

ICTEM Reception is open:
Mon - Thu 8.30am - 16.50
Friday 8.30am - 16.20
Outside of these times you will not be able to access the Commonwealth Building without an ID and PIN Code.
