This workshop introduces AI-powered search tools for research. We will explore how they work, what makes them different from traditional search tools, and when they might be useful. Through hands-on activities, you will compare AI search tools with established academic resources to understand their strengths, limitations, and appropriate use.
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- identify AI tools that can support information searching
- explain how AI research tools retrieve information and how this influences search results
- compare results from AI research tools and traditional databases, highlighting the strengths and limitations of each
