Research data management (RDM) is vital for ensuring the integrity, reliability and reusability of data generated or collected during a research project.

Join this workshop for an introduction to key principles and strategies for effective RDM that will facilitate compliance with ethical and legal responsibilities, prevent data loss or unwarranted disclosure of sensitive data, make it easier to keep track of and understand data throughout a project, and enable data sharing and reuse among your colleagues and collaborators.

By the end of this session you will be able to:

• describe what research data management is and why it is important
• understand ethical and legal responsibilities related to research data
• apply basic principles of data organization and file management
• create documentation to support understanding and reuse of data
