Referencing with BibTeX for LaTeX users

Managing your references in a LaTeX document is fairly straightforward and should not involve a lot of manual work.

In this session you will learn how to cite and reference sources in your LaTeX document using BibTeX files, including using reference management software like RefWorks. Participants should have a working knowledge of LaTeX.

By the end of this session you will be able to:

• cite and reference sources in LaTeX documents using BibTeX
• identify how to use Vancouver, Harvard and IEEE styles  
• create BibTeX files from databases and other sources
• use reference management software to create and organise BibTeX files
