Information on Electives 2022-23

Alumni from any of Imperial College Business School's postgraduate programmes can request to join these electives.

  1. All electives are subject to availability as places are limited and priority for spaces is given to current students. Eligibility to participate in electives is decided by the respective Programme Director. Please note that some electives may also require previous study on a prerequisite module.

  2. Each elective has its own deadline and places cannot be booked after the deadline.

  3. As spaces are limited, we will be operating a waiting list in the case of high demand. You will be notified if you have been allocated a space or added to the waiting list.

  4. There is a fair usage policy where each alumnus is allowed a:

    • maximum of 3 on-campus electives per individual per year  (which can be *Hyflex which means alumni will have the option to access the on-campus teaching remotely via Zoom)

    • but unlimited online elective per individual per year.

  5. In cases where we do have a waiting list, we may ask you to submit a CV for review.

  6.  Alumni are permitted to register their interest in more than one elective. Please only do so if you can commit to attending all sessions.

The fees for elective are as follows:

Standard fee:

  • £800: This is the standard alumni rate per electives

  • £200: recent graduates (alumni who completed their studies in 2019 to 2022)
  • Free: SEP (alumni whose course experience was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and are now benefiting from the Student Enhancement Package (SEP) to audit an elective for free)
  • Free: EMBA (alumni from the Executive MBA are permitted to
  • audit one elective for free*)

*Any additional elective will be charged at the normal
