FoNS EdTech Lab Internship 2026

Thinking about applying? The Student Internship Programme offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic educational technology team. Throughout the programme, you will work as part of the FoNS EdTech team, contributing to live projects that support innovation in teaching and learning. Alongside hands-on project work, you will take part in structured development activities, including workshops, masterclasses, and reflective practice, designed to build your confidence and professional skills. It is an opportunity to build practical skills, enhance your employability, and make a meaningful contribution to projects that have a real impact across the faculty and university.

What to expect

Overview

Up to 10-week programme, full-time internship within the FoNS EdTech team, offering students the opportunity to gain experience working with technology staff and wider stakeholders. Working in a hybrid format, interns support and contribute to projects that influence the student learning experience, gaining practical insight into how educational technology is developed and delivered. Alongside this, the programme includes structured development opportunities to build professional skills.

Interns worked within structured daily Kanban-style stand-up meetings to share progress, coordinate individual and group tasks, and develop collaborative working practices. They followed professional workflows, engaged with internal systems, negotiated shared expectations, and managed calendars to model real-world team coordination. The cohort also participated in masterclasses, including digital accessibility training, and attended full team meetings and demo sessions — with opportunities to contribute and present their work to the wider team.

During you daily activities you will work on a range of tasks including things like:

  • Reviewing content
  • Contributing to projects
  • Finding technical approaches to delivering content
