For commercially-sponsored studies, there are two routes to site selection. In some cases, a sponsor will 'pre-select' the College/Trust and offer the opportunity to lead or take part in a clinical trial. In other cases, the opportunity to participate in a study will be made public and the College/Trust will need to submit an application to be considered as a site.
In either case, it is the responsibility of the CI (study team) to carry out a feasibility check to make sure that we are in a position to carry out the trial. This will involve an assessment of feasibility through consultations with potential stakeholders, such as support service departments, the Joint Research Office (Trust team) and the ICHT Clinical Divisions.
