Documas is a research management database incorporating a document management system. It was originally introduced by the Joint Research Compliance Office to track the governance of clinical trials through regulatory checks to the point at which NHS Trust approval can be issued.
The study should be entered on to the system by the Clinical Division research manager, at the earliest opportunity, preferably once the feasibility assessment has been initiated. As the study continues its journey through the feasibility and work-up stages, the system should be updated by logging key dates and uploaded documentation as required and available.
