Keeping in touch with your alumni community

You can register for a free online alumni account through Plexus – our online platform and community for alumni.

Alumni can request an exclusive Imperial alumni email address.

Your new email address will end in @alumni.imperial.ac.uk.

The mailbox is hosted by Google and works like a regular Gmail account. It’s easy to set up and manage, and you’ll have access to Google mailbox services including Calendar, Drive, Docs and Hangout.

If you complete this form we can set up your Imperial email address for you. Please note you can only apply for an Alumni email address after you have graduated and your student record has transitioned onto the Alumni database

Imperial facilities

Alumni are entitled to discounts on membership at Ethos, Imperial’s premier, state-of-the-art sports centre based in South Kensington.

This four-storey facility is set on the North side of Prince's Gardens and houses:

  • The state-of-the-art Energia fitness gym
  • A 25-metre deck-level swimming pool
  • A sauna, steam room and spa pool
  • An air-conditioned exercise studio with semi-sprung flooring
  • Strength and conditioning facilities
  • Two squash courts
  • Five badminton courts
  • Nine metre climbing wall
  • Sports therapy treatment rooms
  • Licensed café bar

Ethos alumni membership is set at £40 per month for off-peak access and £60 per month for peak access. It can be purchased via the external memberships tab on the website.

Whether you're planning to visit the capital for business or leisure, Imperial College London provides alumni with great value accommodation options during the summer.

Summer accommodation on Campus

Over the summer, the Accommodation Office is offering alumni a discounted rate on rooms around the South Kensington Campus. The facilities include Prince's Gardens and Beit Hall.

These rates are subject to availability and must be booked either by telephone on +44 (0)20 7594 9507/11 or by email at vacenquiries@imperial.ac.uk. They cannot be booked online.

How to book

Alumni must quote "Alumni special summer accommodation" and provide their alumni number at the time of booking to qualify for the special rates. Alumni discount can be only applied for one room per booking.

Year round accommodation on Campus

Guest rooms and flats in 170 Queen’s Gate on the South Kensington Campus are available on a nightly or weekly basis. Longer term rental options are also available for those needing accommodation for three months or more. For more information, visit the accommodation website.

Hotel accommodation

Are you looking for somewhere to hold your next reunion or meeting? As an alumnus, you are entitled to a 10% discount on room hire rates in Imperial’s conference facilities.

Conferences and meetings

Imperial has over 100 meeting rooms, lecture theatres and classrooms, which are centrally located on our main campus in South Kensington.

Imperial’s venues are perfect for conferences and meetings of all sizes and benefit from excellent audio-visual technology, in-house catering, delegate accommodation and event management.

Facilities on the South Kensington campus include a contemporary meeting and conference suite, state-of-the-art lecture theatres and a choice of breakout classrooms which can be joined to create larger spaces and can be used as dedicated meeting or seminar rooms.

Parties and celebrations

If you are looking for a venue for a private function, Imperial’s party and dining venues in London are sure to impress your guests.

You might like to consider Imperial’s historic grade II listed Victorian townhouse on the South Kensington Campus, 170 Queen’s Gate, or, for larger events, the modern Queen’s Tower Rooms are ideal.

Catering

Imperial offers a variety of event catering menus to suit your timetable, taste and budget from working breakfasts and lunches to cocktail receptions and gala dinners. The latest menus are available to download from the Imperial Venues website.

If you'd like to relive your student days with a visit to the Union Bar, you are very welcome!

All you need to do is make sure that you can prove that you're an alumnus to satisfy the terms of their license. The easiest way to do this is to download the Imperial Plexus app or navigate to Imperial Plexus via a web browser on your phone. Login, and show staff your account on arrival. You'll be issued with a day pass that you can use until the bar closes. You may bring up to four guests on any one visit. 

If you're a recent alumnus and you still have your College identification card, you can present this to bar staff instead. 

Please note, you don't have to be a member of the Union to use the bar, you just need to be able to prove that you're an alumnus. 

Yes, our library facilities are open to alumni.

However please note due to the limited number of spaces at the Central Library during the pandemic, a queuing system is in place when the building is very busy. More information can be found on the Library website.

  • To use the library at the South Kensington campus, you need to apply online for alumni library membership. Select the Imperial College Alumni option from the drop-down menu and complete the application form. After completing the form, please bring your interactive alumni services account login with you to your chosen library, where you will be asked show one of the required forms of Identification, including proof of address.
  • Alumni can borrow up to five items from the Central Library, and have walk-in access to a limited number of online resources, check with the library in advance to confirm which ones are available to you. Use of these resources is strictly for non-commercial purposes. Please be advised that once you are no longer a current student of the College you are not entitled to access most of the Library’s electronic resources, such as ft.com (Financial Times subscription) and EBSCO Business Source Ultimate.
  • Imperial College London alumni may have free access to RefWorks for as long as the Library maintains a subscription to this service. To maintain access to any references you have saved to your RefWorks accounts whilst at College you must transfer your account to an alumni account before your College username and password expire.

As part of the RefWorks Alumni Programme, you are entitled to:

  • One free RefWorks account
  • New updates and feature releases
  • 200 MB of file attachment storage
  • The ability to share your folder or account via RefShare
  • Free web-based training
  • Technical Support

The 12month Full-Time MBA is designed to enable you to carve your unique pathway to being a responsible business leader. The next intake starts in September 2022, tuition fees are £57,200*.

The Weekend MBA starting in April 2022 is a 21 month part-time programme allowing you to accelerate and develop your career whilst working at the same time. Tuition fees are £50,900*.

The part-time Executive MBA programme is for the experienced professional looking to develop strategic leadership skills. Undertaken whilst working, this 23-month programme starts in February 2022, tuition fees are £61,500*.

The Global Online MBA can be completed in 21, 24 or 32 months commencing in either September 2022 or January 2023 with fees at £42,600* (Sept only). Delivered in a distance learning online format that enables you to advance your career whilst studying at a global top 10 university.

The Centre for Co-Curricular Studies at Imperial College London offers a range of evening classes in a variety of languages at various levels, as well as classes in Creative Writing, Music Technology, Introduction to Film, Art, and The Arabic World Evening Classes.
