Students walking down steps outside halls

Continuing students

Explore the options available for living in halls beyond the first year.

The majority of our halls of residence are only available to first-year undergraduate students. As a result, there are a limited number of rooms available each year for continuing undergraduate students who wish to remain living in halls.

Apply for 2026-27

Applications are now open.  The deadline to apply is 17.00 on Friday 27 March. As long as you apply within the application window, your application will be considered.

Some rooms are reserved for students with specific financial eligibility criteria or who are part of recognised underrepresented groups. After these rooms have been allocated, any remaining rooms will be offered through a lottery system.

Important information

To keep the process fair and give everyone an equal opportunity to secure a place in halls, continuing student accommodation must be applied for each year and, where offered, is provided on a 39-week licence.

If you are currently living in Scape Hammersmith, Parsons House or Evelyn Gardens, you will still need to apply again. This applies even if your current room was allocated on financial hardship or underrepresented grounds. All applications are considered equally each year, and current residents are not guaranteed a place.
