Applications are now open and close at 17.00 on Friday 27 March. Both application routes follow the same timeline.

Application routes

There are two routes for continuing undergraduate students to apply for accommodation: the financial hardship route and the general accommodation application.

A limited number of rooms are reserved for students who meet the eligibility criteria for the financial hardship route, including students experiencing significant financial hardship and those from recognised underrepresented groups. These rooms are located at Scape Hammersmith only, and applications are assessed separately.

The general accommodation application allows you to select up to five rooms in order of preference. Accommodation is then allocated through a lottery system, based on availability. This may include rooms in halls such as Evelyn Gardens, Parsons House, and any remaining rooms at Scape Hammersmith.

Students who apply via the financial hardship route may also choose to submit a general accommodation application so that, if their financial hardship application is unsuccessful, they can still be considered through the lottery.

If you're a continuing undergraduate student, you can apply for accommodation at Evelyn Gardens or Scape Hammersmith. You'll need to rank up to five room preferences in order.

For Scape Hammersmith, all rooms have the same rent, so only one room type is available. If you select this option, your specific room will be assigned at random.

Applications must be submitted within the two-week window, as late applications cannot be considered.

How we allocate rooms

Priority allocation

Some rooms are reserved for students facing financial hardship or experiencing exceptional personal circumstances. If you believe you qualify, please complete the relevant section in your application and submit the required form.

While we prioritise eligible students, a place is not guaranteed.

General Allocation

Once priority allocations are complete, remaining spaces will be assigned through a lottery system.

When will I hear back?

We will begin notifying successful applicants in May.

  • Each student, including current residents, will receive one accommodation offer.
  • Rooms will be allocated based on your preferences, but if none are available, we may offer an alternative.
  • Students whose applications are unsuccessful will be notified in late June.

Important Information

Spaces in continuing halls are very limited. We strongly encourage students to explore private sector options as well.
