Imperial has entered a partnership with the Earls Court Development Company for new affordable accommodation for Imperial students in a new purpose-built student accommodation building in the Earls Court redevelopment.
Imperial has secured 244 affordable rooms within the new purpose-built student accommodation development, which forms part of the first phase of development at Earls Court.
The new building, designed by award-winning architects Serie, will offer high quality student accommodation across studio rooms and cluster flats, all benefiting from excellent student amenities including two roof terraces with excellent views across London. There will also be a student lounge, individual and group study spaces, an outdoor courtyard, gym and studio, games room and cycle storage.
Imperial's allocation will comprise cluster flats of up to seven en-suite bedrooms and a shared kitchen dining space. Each en-suite room will include a double bed, ample storage and a generous sized desk located near to a window.
Earls Court is located in Zone 1 and has three tube stations on its doorstep: West Brompton, West Kensington and Earl’s Court.
The Earls Court Development Company is developing the former site of the Earls Court Exhibition Centres into a new London district. The first phase of the development will create new workspaces, shops, bars and restaurants, and up to 1,300 new homes including student accommodation, alongside major new public and green spaces including the 4.5 acre Table Park.
The building is set to open from 2030/31. Rental prices will be confirmed closer to the opening date.
