The Faculty of Medicine at Imperial is offering a number of PhD studentships funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) University Doctoral Landscape Award. Each PhD studentship will be a distinct research project that contributes towards the aims of the wider collaborative research programme within the EPSRC's remit of research priorities.
EPSRC University Doctoral Landscape Award PhD students will join a min-cohort of researchers, undertake mandatory core skills training, have access to professional development opportunities and cohort-based activities. Each mini-cohort will be steered by a programme lead and each PhD student will have a supervisory team from across Imperial's world-class academic departments.
EPSRC PhD students will be based in the Faculty of Medicine and will benefit from an exceptional student experience including:-
- cohort training workshops
- placements/internships
- cohort-wide lab/group meetings
- networking with wider collaborative research groups
- access to a broad suite of Early Career Research Institute (ECRI) training courses
- one-to-one coaching and mentoring
We expect projects to be advertised and open for applications from March 2026
