Funding details

The Faculty of Medicine EPSRC University Doctoral Landscape Awards provide funding for 3.5 year PhD studentships. The financial package covers the following:-

  1. A tax-free stipend, currently £22,780 per annum, for 3 years of research, plus a further 6 months for the writing-up period. 
  2. Tuition fees paid at UKRI level for 3 years. The writing-up period does not incur tuition fees.
  3. A research training support grant (RTSG) of £2,000 per annum for 3 years, paid to the supervisor for supporting the student’s training and research.
  4. A conference fund of £300 per annum for 3 years to facilitate registration and attendance at conferences and scientific meetings.
