Upon completion of this workshop, participants will have:
- Critically evaluated their current views on the opportunities and threats to Higher Education posed by AI;
- Evaluated own assessment methods in terms of their AI 'compatibility';
- Identified opportunities that AI presents for teaching, learning and assessment.

Who should attend?
This interactive workshop is designed for staff who is interested in reflecting on the role and impact of generative AI (GenAI) on teaching and learning in higher education. Drawing on current research and student perspectives from Imperial and across the sector, participants will explore how GenAI is influencing students’ learning experiences and behaviours, as well as the different roles it can play in supporting learning and teaching.
Through discussion and interactive activities, participants will examine the opportunities and challenges presented by GenAI and consider its implications for effective and inclusive practice. They will critically consider the potential benefits, limitations and risks of these uses, including issues relating to accuracy, accessibility and sustainability. The workshop creates a space for practitioners to relate these ideas to their own teaching contexts and identify appropriate ways to support student learning, and critical and responsible engagement with GenAI tools in this evolving context.
