Imperial is proud to be one of twelve research organisations selected to deliver the Government’s £54 million fund to recruit the world’s top researchers. The new Global Talent Fund is an investment from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) intended to support the recruitment of outstanding international researchers in the eight high priority sectors identified in the UK’s Industrial Strategy.
How Imperial will use the Fund
This five-year programme, delivered by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), aims to attract exceptional talent from across the globe to help drive innovation, collaboration and economic growth in the UK.
Institutions are empowered by UKRI to develop their own approaches to spend their share of the Global Talent Fund to attract research talent from around the globe in their choice of Industrial Strategy areas, including covering visa and relocation costs for researchers and their family members.
At Imperial, the funding will enable the recruitment of world-leading researchers across our four Faculties – Engineering, Medicine, Natural Sciences and the Business School – in alignment both with the UK Industrial Strategy and our own strategic priorities, including artificial intelligence, data science, life sciences, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies and business innovation.
Recruitment Process
Posts funded through the Global Talent Fund will be recruited through the usual Faculty processes. We are not accepting speculative applications. If you have any queries, please contact provost@imperial.ac.uk.
