The Education Office Forum is a series of termly events hosted by the central Education Office. The Forum is an opportunity to gain insight into the wide range of projects and activities, related to Imperial’s Class of 2030 initiative which incorporates the Learning and Teaching Strategy and Imperial Experience Academic Strategy project, that the Education Office delivers and supports. Information about previous editions of the Forum is available on this page. Colleagues from across the university, whether they are directly involved in teaching and learning at Imperial or have a general interest in it, are welcome to attend. Summary
There was an overview of the key roles of the Education Office such as overseeing the delivery of the Class of 2030 strategic initiative (the Learning & Teaching Strategy and the Imperial Experience Academic Strategy Project), and managing the Education & Student Experience Committee and the 11 subcommittees. Information was provided on the Learning and Teaching Strategy Seed Funding, which comprises of a unified call for three funds: the President's Excellence Fund, the Pedagogy Transformation Fund and Digital Innovation Fund. Funded projects are expected to further Imperial’s aims and align with the Learning and Teaching Strategy. An update was given on the Assessment and Feedback Project, which encompasses a commitment to review our assessment practices and workload to reduce assessment burden on both staff and students. Additionally, colleagues were advised that they could get involved in the Education Office through signing up for the Learning and Teaching newsletter by emailing ltstrategy@imperial.ac.uk, attending Talking Teaching or joining a Special Interest Group.
