Eligibility criteria

The scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following conditions by the deadline of 11:59 pm (UK local time), Friday, 26 May 2023:  

• Be Female and/or of an underrepresented minority ethnicity (within the Department of Mechanical Engineering)
• Possess a Home fee status
• Demonstrate exceptional academic merit and/or potential
• Have an offer of admission from the College to study a full-time undergraduate course in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering commencing in 2023/24

As determined by College, the following ethnicities are underrepresented within the Department of Mechanical Engineering:

• Mixed / Multiple ethnic groups: White and Black Caribbean
• Mixed / Multiple ethnic groups: White and Black African
• Mixed / Multiple ethnic groups: White and Asian
• Mixed / Multiple ethnic groups: Any other Mixed / Multiple ethnic background
• Asian / Asian British: Indian
• Asian / Asian British: Bangladeshi
• Asian / Asian British: Pakistani
• Asian / Asian British: Chinese
• Asian / Asian British: Any other Asian background  (please specify)
• Black / Black British / Caribbean / African: Caribbean
• Black / Black British / Caribbean / African: African
• Black / African / Caribbean / Black British : Any other Black / African / Caribbean background 
• Other ethnic group: Arab

Application process

How to apply:

1. Apply and have an offer of admission from the College to study a full-time undergraduate course in the Department of Mechanical Engineering commencing in 2023/24 by 11:59pm (UK local time) on Friday 26 May 2023
2. Complete an application form by Friday 26 May 2023

The Department of Mechanical Engineering will rank the applicants who meet the eligibility conditions per academic merit and/or potential based on their UCAS application.

The successful candidate will be notified by 31 July 2023.
