Application deadlines and dates you need to know

Below are all the key dates you need to know if you're applying for undergraduate study at Imperial.

If you submit your completed application to UCAS by the 'equal consideration' deadline, this means that it doesn't matter whether you applied as soon as applications open or on the application deadline; your application will have an equal chance of success.

We recommend giving yourself plenty of time to complete your UCAS application as there’s quite a bit to do. Importantly, you don’t need to complete it all at once, as you can save it as you go.

It's worth making sure you have enough time to spend on each element – particularly your personal statement.

You won't be able to submit your application until your chosen referee has completed and added your reference to the application.

Missed the deadline?

Late applications are accepted by UCAS throughout the remainder of the admissions cycle.

Late applications will be considered by universities at their own discretion.

If you miss the deadline for our courses, there is no guarantee that you will be given the same level of consideration as applicants who submit their application by the 'equal consideration' deadline.

Course-related admissions tests

Applicants to many Imperial departments need to sit an admissions test as part of their application.

We take your test performance into account alongside other elements of your UCAS application, such as your personal statement. The test you will be required to take will depend on which Imperial department you are applying to.

Please note: as of 2025 entry there will be new admissions tests to take for certain courses.

Find out which admissions test you need to take.

Some departments design and run their own tests. Some use external tests like the School of Medicine which uses the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) as part of its selection process for MBBS/BSc Medicine.

Most admissions tests happen between August and November in the year before you're due to start your course – some may be even earlier, before you’ve sent your UCAS application.

If you're applying for an Imperial course that requires an admissions test then you will need to take note of any relevant deadlines.
