Eligibility criteria

The Ceres Scholarship is awarded each year to one student who plans to study full-time in the Department of Materials at Imperial College London. It is designed to support individuals who are genuinely interested in the energy sector and want to help shape its future. The scholarship encourages students from all backgrounds to bring their ideas and enthusiasm to this exciting and important field.

To be considered for the Ceres Scholarship, applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • You must be applying to study as a full-time undergraduate student in the Department of Materials at Imperial.

  • You should demonstrate a genuine interest in the energy sector. This can be shown through your personal statement or other relevant experiences.

  • The scholarship is open to Home and Overseas students

Please note: This scholarship is not available to continuing students.

Application process

You don’t need to submit a separate application for the Ceres Scholarship. All eligible applicants will be considered automatically:

  • Reviewed by Admissions: The admissions tutor will look at your personal statement to understand your interest in the energy sector.
  • Next Steps: If you’re shortlisted, you’ll be contacted at the end of March or early April and invited to provide some additional information.

Additional information

The Ceres Scholarship provides £5,000 each year, paid in monthly instalments. This funding is intended to help with everyday costs such as living expenses, books, or other study-related needs.
