Eligibility criteria
To be considered for a CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education scholarship you must:
be Lebanese nationals ordinarily resident in Lebanon. Important: Please note that those with international exposure who have completed their studies outside Lebanon or currently studying outside Lebanon are not eligible
be able to demonstrate that you have come from a financially disadvantaged background
have been classified as Overseas for fee status
have received an offer of admission to study for a one-year full-time Master's course from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Imperial Business School (except MBA) or Science Communication Unit by Wednesday 4th March 2026
Important: Please note that courses in the Faculty of Medicine are not eligible for this scholarship
be available to commence your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in the Autumn 2026
Non-eligibility
You are not eligible if:
you apply for an MBA course or joint courses with other institutions
the duration of your course is longer than one year
you have applied for a course in the Faculty of Medicine
you have had international exposure and have completed your studies or are currently studying outside Lebanon
Additional requirements
In addition to the above eligibility, applicants who are awarded this scholarship will be required to have met Imperial's English entry requirements (pre-sessional English courses are not supported by this programme) by 30th June 2026. If you have not met the English entry requirements yet, please make the necessary arrangements as soon as possible to ensure you meet this requirement by 30th June 2026.

Application process
Stage 1: Apply for a one-year full-time Master's course at Imperial
You must submit an application for an eligible master’s course through the standard Imperial application procedure and have an offer of admission by the deadline of 23.59 (UK local time), Wednesday 4th March 2026
Important:
To be invited to apply for this scholarship, when you apply online through My Imperial, you must ensure you have selected in section "Nationality", Lebanon as either primary nationality or secondary nationality and in section "Residency", Lebanon as your country of permanent residence.
Some departments have applications rounds for the postgraduate taught courses, with fixed applications dates through the year. Some departments require you to apply by January 2026 to get a decision by March 2026. Please check carefully the Deadlines page for further information.

Stage 2: Eligible candidates will be invited to apply for the scholarship
During the week commencing 16th March 2026, eligible students who have received an offer of admission to study at the Imperial for 2026 entry will be contacted via email and invited to complete a CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education scholarship application form.
Applicants will be assessed on academic merit or potential through the standard admission process. Applicants will be required to successfully demonstrate that they come from a financially disadvantaged background and this will be assessed through the information provided on the scholarship application.

How much is it worth?
Each CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education scholarship covers full (overseas) tuition fees and provides an annual stipend of £19,500.
Travel costs such as flights, visa application costs and more are not included as part of this scholarship.
Outcome of the award
The successful candidates will be notified by email no later than end of June 2026. If you have not heard from us by 3rd July, please assume you have been unsuccessful in your application.
Please note that the successful scholars will be expected to meet informally with the donors on occasions, and will be required to submit a short statement of progress each year that will be shared with the donors.
This award is for students starting in the academic year 2026-27 and cannot be deferred. All scholarships are awarded subject to students accepting award Terms and Conditions.
