Eligibility criteria

The CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education supports exceptional students from diverse backgrounds, across socio-economic and geographic contexts, opening pathways to world-class universities, transformative education, and future leadership.

 

Launched in 2022 in response to Lebanon’s urgent social and economic challenges, the Excellence Fund for Education has since expanded to reflect CMA CGM’s global footprint and long-term investment in youth leadership. To date, the program has supported 330 students across multiple countries, connecting them to top-tier universities and preparing them to lead in the fields of trade, logistics, innovation, and sustainableThe CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education supports exceptional students from diverse backgrounds, across socio-economic and geographic contexts, opening pathways to world-class universities, transformative education, and future leadership.

To be considered for a CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education scholarship you must:

 

  1. be nationals ordinarily resident in any Least Developed Country or Lower Middle Income Country, as defined by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and available via the following link: List of LDCs and country fact sheets.  Important:  Please note that those with international exposure who have completed their studies outside their country or currently studying outside their country are not eligible

  2. have been classified as Overseas for fee status

  3. have received an offer of admission to study for one-year full-time eligible Master's courses (please see the list of eligible courses under section “Course specific information” below). 

  4. be available to commence your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in the Autumn 2026

Application process

Stage 1: Apply for one of the eligible full-time one year eligible Master's course  at Imperial

 

You must submit an application for an eligible master’s course through the standard Imperial application procedure and have an offer of admission by the deadline of 23.59 (UK local time), Wednesday 4th March 2026

Important:

  • To be invited to apply for this scholarship, when you apply online through My Imperial, you must ensure you have selected in section "Nationality", one of the eligible countries as either primary nationality or secondary nationality and in section "Residency" one of the eligible countries as your country of permanent residence. 

  • Some departments have applications rounds for the postgraduate taught courses, with fixed applications dates through the year. Some departments require you to apply by January 2026 to get a decision by March 2026.  Please check carefully the Deadlines page for further information. 

  • If you're applying for a postgraduate course at Imperial, you may need to pay an application fee. You can check whether you are eligible for an application fee waiver and more information on our application fees page.

 

Stage 2: Eligible candidates will be invited to apply for the scholarship

During the week commencing 16th March 2026, eligible students who have received an offer of admission to study at the Imperial for 2026 entry will be contacted via email and invited to complete a CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education scholarship application form.

Applicants will be assessed on academic merit or potential through the standard admission process. In the scholarship application form, applicants will be required to indicate their interest to be considered for this scholarship and successfully demonstrate that they meet the spirit of the award. This will be assessed through the information on the scholarship application. 

 

Additional information

In addition to the above eligibility, applicants who are awarded this scholarship will be required to have met Imperial's English entry requirements (pre-sessional English courses are not supported by this programme) by 30th June 2026. If you have not met the English entry requirements yet, please make the necessary arrangements as soon as possible to ensure you meet this requirement by 30th June 2026.
