Course specific information
The Engineering Access Grant provides a one-off cash bursary of £1,000 to an eligible undergraduate student within Imperial's Faculty of Engineering.
One award is available for the 2026/27 academic year, subject to confirmation of funding.
The grant is available to eligible new undergraduate entrants who commenced their studies in autumn 2026.
Application process
Complete the scholarship application form by 23:59 (UK local time), Monday 16 November 2026.
Have commenced an eligible undergraduate course within Imperial's Faculty of Engineering in autumn 2026.
Submit a student finance application and be 'means-tested' by Student Finance England (SFE) or equivalent funding authority. 'Means-tested' is when a student submits details of their household income, to help their student finance body assess how much they're eligible to receive in maintenance support.
To be considered for this scholarship, your household income must be £70,000 or less per annum and must be confirmed to us by SFE or your equivalent funding authority by the deadline of 23:59 (UK local time), Monday 16 November 2026.
SFE can take up to 8 weeks to assess applications, so it is recommended that you apply to be means-tested as soon as possible.
Please make sure you consent to share your household income information (your household income is your parents' or partner's income, plus yours) with the College through SFE or your equivalent funding authority. This is important as we need to be able to access your household income information to determine your eligibility for this scholarship.
Additional information
The successful applicant will be contacted by the end of November 2026 and will be asked to confidentially provide evidence of their disability to Imperial's Disability Advisory Service team.
If you have not heard from our team by the end of November 2026, please assume your application has been unsuccessful.
The grant shall be paid as a one-off payment to the successful applicant in December 2026.
