Eligibility criteria

This scholarship is open to applicants who:

  • Hold a first degree in a science discipline, preferably with a first or upper second class classification
  • Have taken the GMAT exam, with a target score of 650 or above
  • Demonstrate strong business leadership qualities and a clear commitment to contributing to the UK’s economic development
  • Are UK nationals currently residing in the United Kingdom
  • Have between four to ten years of professional experience following completion of their undergraduate degree

Please note: This scholarship is not available to continuing students.

Course specific information

Available to applicants of the Full-Time MBA programme at Imperial College Business School.

Application process

Applications must be submitted via the Royal Academy of Engineering, which administers the scholarship on behalf of EIBF.

Full application details are available on the National Physical Laboratory website.

It is not necessary to have secured a place at a business school before applying.

Successful applicants without a confirmed place will receive a scholarship offer in principle, which must be taken up within 12 months.

Additional information

This scholarship is offered by the Engineers in Business Fellowship (EIBF) in partnership with the National Physical Laboratory.

It supports promising scientists who wish to enhance their business skills and contribute to the UK’s economic prosperity.

The scholarship is inspired by nearly 40 years of EIBF’s work with engineers and now extends to scientists seeking to make an impact through business leadership.
