Eligibility criteria

These awards are open to new Home fee status students making an application to the MSc Genes Drugs and Stem Cells programme to start in 2025.

The focus of these scholarships is to increase access to postgraduate study at Imperial for people from under represented groups. You can see further guidance on the Office for Students webpages on who may be considered an under represented group in Higher Education

It is not essential for applicants to have already received an offer of a place on a programme, but the initial programme application must have been started before applying for a scholarship.

Please note: This scholarship is not available to continuing students.

Course specific information

The scholarships are for the MSc Genes, Drugs and Stem Cells - Novel Therapies programme.

Application process

Applications should be submitted through our application form.

You will be asked to provide a personal statement outlining why you want to study with us and what you aspire to do on completion of the MSc.

Guidance to applicants on the personal statement

Take your time to compose your personal statement. Be yourself.

The best personal statements are based on the applicant’s own honest reflections about their plans and the way to get there. You may need to make more than one draft before submitting your final statement.

The question is really asking, “based on what you know about the course, why do you want to do the MSc and what do you hope to 'take away' from it that will support your future career plans?”.

Please evidence how your studying at Imperial will increase the diversity within the student body and/or how you fall within an under represented group. See Office for Student webpage for guidance on 'under represented groups'.

Additional information

The decision will be communicated by the end of July. Candidates must first apply for the MSc programme before applying for the scholarship.
