Eligibility criteria
To be considered for a GREAT – Imperial College London Scholarship you must:
- be a passport holder and a resident of one of the eligible countries: France, Egypt, Ghana or Nigeria. These are the only eligible countries at Imperial;
- have been classified as Overseas for fee status;
- apply for a one-year full-time Master's course (on campus courses only) ;
- have received an offer of admissions to study for a one-year full-time Master's course by 13 March 2026;
- be available to commence your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in Autumn 2026-27.
You are not eligible if:
- Your course is an on-line/distance learning course (only on-campus/in person courses are eligible)
- The duration of your course is longer than one year
Additional requirements
In addition to the above eligibility, applicants who are awarded this scholarship will be required to have met the university's English entry requirements (Pre-sessional English courses are not supported by this programme) by 30 June 2026. If you have not met the English entry requirements yet, please make the necessary arrangements as soon as possible to ensure you meet this requirement by 30 June 2026.

Application process
Stage 1: Apply for a one-year full-time Master's course at Imperial College London by 7 January 2026.
You must submit an application for a master’s course through the standard application procedure and have an offer of admission by the deadline of 11:59 pm (UK local time), Friday, 13 March 2026.
Important
- To be invited to apply for the scholarship, when you apply online through My Imperial, you must ensure you have selected in section "Nationality", one of the eligible countries (France, Egypt, Ghana or Nigeria) as either primary nationality or secondary nationality and in section "Residency", one of the eligible countries as your country of permanent residence.
- Some departments have application rounds for the postgraduate taught courses, with fixed application dates throughout the year. Some departments require you to apply by January 2026 to get a decision by March 2026. Please check carefully the Deadlines page for further information

Stage 2: Eligible candidates will be invited to apply for the scholarship.
During the week commencing 13 April 2026, eligible students who have received an offer of admission to study at the university for Autumn 2026-27 will be contacted via email and invited to complete a GREAT Scholarship application form.
The scholarship is a partial scholarship, which covers £15,000 towards tuition fees. The scholarship application will assess your circumstances and ability to cover the reminder of cost not covered by the scholarship (i.e. the remainder of your tuition fees and the estimated costs of living).

How much is it worth?
Each GREAT – Imperial College London Scholarship - 2026 is worth:
- £15,000 towards tuition fees
The scholarship can only be used towards tuition fees.
How many scholarships are available?
There are four awards in total (one for each of France, Egypt, Ghana and Nigeria).
Outcome of the award
The successful candidates will be notified by email no later than 30 June 2026. If you have not heard from us by this date, please assume you have been unsuccessful in your application.
Please note that the successful scholars will be expected to meet informally with the donors on occasions, and will be required to submit a short statement of progress each year that will be shared with the donors.
This award is for students starting in the Autumn 2026-27 and cannot be deferred. All scholarships are awarded subject to students accepting award Terms and Conditions.
