Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Background: This scholarship is specifically designed to support students from underrepresented backgrounds in higher education and engineering. This includes, but is not limited to:
Students from ethnic minority groups
Students from low-income households or those eligible for free school meals
Students who are the first in their family to attend university
Students who have experienced educational disadvantage or attended schools with lower progression rates to higher education
Students who have been in care, are care leavers, or are estranged from their families
Students with disabilities or long-term health conditions
Students from underrepresented regions or areas with low participation in higher education
Applicants should demonstrate strong academic ability and a passion for engineering, innovation, and problem-solving. While academic excellence is important, the selection process also values resilience, leadership potential, and commitment to making a positive impact in the field of engineering or society more broadly.

Please note: This scholarship is not available to continuing students.
Course specific information
The scholarship will cover four years of study - Our five-year degrees for MEng Aeronautical Engineering with a year abroad and MEng Aeronautical Engineering with a year in industry can be supported, but funding will only be available for the four academic years taught full-time at Imperial.
Application process
The application process is as follows:
1. Apply via UCAS for our H401 MEng Aeronautical Engineering course by 18:00 GMT on 29 January 2025. If you're unsure of how to apply, see the step-by-step guide on our Apply webpages. Please note that for Aeronautical Engineering, an ESAT Test must also be sat in January with test registration closing on 23 December 2024.
2. Receive an offer of a place for 2025-entry.
3. We will send communications to all eligible offer-holders once places have been confirmed including full details of this scholarship, a scholarship application form and the scholarship application deadline
