Eligibility criteria
In order to be eligible for an Award, candidates must:
- Hold a first degree that is equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honours degree;
- Be ordinarily a resident and/or citizen of Vietnam;
- Hold an offer of admission for a full-time 3.5 year PhD course offered by the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the College. Courses offered by the Imperial Business School and the Faculty of Medicine are not eligible for the Scheme;
- Hold an offer of admission for a programme that fits within Vingroup Scholarship Program’s supported fields of study: Computer science and information systems; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Biological Sciences; Materials Sciences.
Please note: This scholarship is not available to continuing students.

In order to be considered for an Award candidates must:
- apply to Imperial for an eligible course through Imperial’s normal application and selection procedures;
- formally apply to the Vingroup Science & Technology Scholarship Program for their procedures & deadlines. The applications will close at (Vietnam Time) 6:00pm 15 April 2026.
