We accept a wide range of international qualifications for postgraduate study at Imperial.

We've provided general guidance in the country and region index below on how qualifications awarded by public institutions overseas may satisfy our minimum academic admission requirements.

But you should always refer to our course pages, or to the relevant Admissions team, for specific guidance on requirements for courses of interest.

Requirements or acceptability may also differ for other types of institution.

The demanding and competitive nature of our courses means that individual departments, centres and institutes may set higher admissions standards than the minimum requirements listed in our index.

Specific grade averages may also be required in addition to the degree classification stated. This may not be detailed in the index below.

Holistic approach

While academic grades are important, it's not the only factor that we take into account during selection, so even if you meet all of our academic requirements that does not automatically guarantee admission.

We also consider other factors such as suitability for the course and your proficiency in English.

Your academic references are also important and some courses may require relevant work experience.

Updates to entry requirements

We review our requirements annually. Updates usually happen in September each year before the next academic year of entry.
