Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, candidates must have attained the conditions below by Friday 29 May 2026:
  1. Have an offer of admissions from the Imperial College London to study a three-year or four-year full-time undergraduate course from the Departments of Chemical Engineering, Earth Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering starting in autumn 2025;
  2. Possess a Home fee status;
  3. Qualify for the university's contextual admissions route.

Please note: This scholarship is not available to continuing students.

Application process

How to Apply:

To apply for this scholarship, applicants need to complete the following steps by the deadline of 11:59 pm (UK local time)  Friday 29 May 2026:

  1. Submit a UCAS application form for your course of study from the four Departments in the Faculty of Engineering and have an offer of admissions; and  
  2. Complete the scholarship application form (The application form is for both BP Widening Participation Scholarships and Kentfield Scholarship. Personal statement is required for this application, please refer to the instructions on the form.)

The Department that you have applied to within the Faculty of Engineering will assess your academic merit from your predicted A-Level results and your UCAS application form. Applicants will be ranked by Departments and the final selection from the shortlist will be made by the Faculty of Engineering. 

Additional information

Value of the Award:

Each successful scholar will receive a cash bursary of £9,500 per academic year to cover maintenance/ living costs. Scholarship amount will be reduced if the awardee is in receipt of the Imperial Bursary to cap the total funding to average of upper cost of living band .

The award is for a maximum of 4 years, excluding repeat periods of study.

Outcome of the Award:

The successful candidate will be notified by email no later than Friday 31 July 2026.  If you have not heard from us by this date, please assume you have been unsuccessful in your application.

Please note that the successful scholars will be expected to meet informally with the donors on occasions and will be required to submit a short statement of progress each year that will be shared with the donors.

This award is for students starting in the academic year 2026-27 and cannot be deferred. All scholarships are awarded subject to students accepting award Terms and Conditions. Please note that the award is conditional upon you receiving an unconditional offer to study at Imperial in September 2026. Continuation of a Scholarship is subject to the Scholar maintaining satisfactory academic progress as defined by Imperial.
