Eligibility criteria
To be eligible, candidates must have attained the conditions below by Monday 23 February 2026:- Possess a Home fee status; and
- Have an offer of admission from the university to study an undergraduate course in the Department of Mathematics.
The Department of Mathematics will assess your academic merit using your UCAS application, and shortlisted candidates may be invited to an online interview.
Successful candidate will be notified by the end of April 2026. The scholarship offer will be confirmed after the successful candidate has been assessed for financial support through Student Finance England (SFE) (or equivalent funding authority), with a SFE verified household income of less than £70,000 for the 2026/27 academic year by 11:59 pm (UK local time) Friday 29 May 2026.

How to Apply:
You must submit a UCAS application for study within the Department of Mathematics of Faculty of Natural Sciences. The Department will invite eligible students to submit a scholarship application. The Department will assess your academic merit using your UCAS application, and shortlisted candidates may be invited to an online interview. 'Means-tested' by Student Finance England (SFE) or equivalent funding authority:
'Means-tested’ is when a student submits details of their household income, to help their student finance body assess how much they are eligible to receive in maintenance support. To confirm this scholarship offer, your household income information must be less than £70,000 for the 2026/27 academic year and must be confirmed to us by SFE by the deadline of 11:59 pm (UK local time) Friday 29 May 2026. SFE can take up to 8 weeks to assess applications. It is recommended that you apply for means testing as soon as student loan applications open. Please ensure you consent to share your household income information with the university via Student Finance England (SFE).
