Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • Hold a first degree (preferably first/upper-second) in engineering or allied technology

  • Show strong commitment to UK industry and their engineering/science community

  • Be a UK national living in the UK

  • Have 4–10 years' professional experience post-degree

A Chartered Engineer/Scientist qualification (or progress towards one) is viewed favourably but not required

Apply via the Royal Academy of Engineering, which administers the scholarship on ESBF's behalf. Full details are on their website.

 

You need not have secured a business school place before applying. Successful applicants without an offer will receive an 'offer in principle' which is valid for 12 months.

Engineers and Scientists in Business Fellowship (ESBF) awards MBA scholarships of £50,000 to promising engineers looking to advance their business skills. The fellowship aims to develop engineers into leaders who drive innovation and growth, boosting UK business performance. Since 1987, more than 400 engineers have been given the opportunity to study for an MBA at the world’s leading business schools. ESBF works in partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering to deliver this scholarship.
