Eligibility criteria

The scholarship is open to all students who meet the following conditions:

  • Be ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom and possess a Home fee status;
  • Have an offer of admission from the Imperial College London to an undergraduate course in Faulty of Engineering commencing in Autumn 2026-27; 
  • Have a disability as defined at section 6 in the Equality Act 2010;
  • Have a household income of £60,000 or less confirmed by the Student Finance England, or equivalent funding authority.

Please note: This scholarship is not available to continuing students.

Application process

To apply for this scholarship, applicants need to fulfil the following by  11:59 pm (UK local time) Friday 29 May 2026
  1. complete the Scholarship Application Form;
  2. have an offer of admission for an undergraduate course within the Faculty of Engineering from Imperial commencing in Autumn 2026-27; and
  3. submit a student finance application and be 'means-tested' by Student Finance England (SFE) or equivalent funding authority.
    • 'Means-tested’ is when a student submits details of their household income to help their student finance body assess how much they are eligible to receive in maintenance support. To be considered for this scholarship, your household income information must be £60,000 or less per annum and must be confirmed to us by SFE by the deadline of 11:59 pm (UK local time) Friday 29 May 2026.  SFE can take up to 8 weeks to assess applications. It is recommended that you apply for means testing as soon as student loan applications open. Please ensure you consent to share your household income information with the university via SFE.
Applicants do not need to provide disability evidence in the application form; nor should they send any disability-related details to the Student Financial Support team. 

Additional information

  1. The lists of applicants will be forwarded to the Faculty of Engineering for review and recommendation, based on the academic profiles/ potentials on the UCAS applications.
  2. After receiving the Faculty's recommendations, Disability Advisory Service team will then ask the shortlisted candidates to submit the disability evidence for verification and confirmation. 
  3. Successful candidates will be notified by the end of July 2026. 

The successful candidate will be notified of the outcome no later than Friday 31 July 2026. If you have not heard from us by this date, please assume you have been unsuccessful in your application.

This award is for students starting in the academic year 2026/27 and cannot be deferred. All scholarships are awarded subject to students accepting award Terms and Conditions. Please note that the award is conditional upon you receiving an unconditional offer to study at Imperial by September 2026. Continuation of a Scholarship is subject to the Scholar maintaining satisfactory academic progress as defined by Imperial.
