Change Bio is a platform for rapid protein prototyping, built around one problem: getting engineered proteins from sequence to scalable manufacturing. Founded by an Imperial College London alumni, we combine deep expertise in strain and bioprocess engineering with machine learning and a strong network of contract manufacturing partners to help protein designers find and scale their best candidates, faster.
Our proprietary platform delivers bioreactor-scale prototyping under industrially representative conditions, generating manufacturability data, not just protein, so teams can identify which candidates will perform at scale before committing to them. We currently offer a rapid prototyping service, taking an amino acid sequence to a usable gram-scale sample in weeks, and are expanding our portfolio to support the full design-build-test cycle, from candidate screening to tech transfer and CMO-scale manufacture.
Change Bio is a member of the Undaunted Greenhouse accelerator (Cohort 9), supported by the Grantham Institute at Imperial, and both a Women TechEU and WE RISE grantee. Change Bio is active across the engineering biology ecosystem, participating in a recent IUK Global Expert Mission and speaking at the Royal Society on the scale-up challenge. Change Bio is also a winner of the TechRound Sustainability60.
